2 Peter 3:10-14 GW . . .The day of the Lord will come like a thief. On that day heaven [earth's rulers] will pass away with a roaring sound. Everything that makes up the universe [ruling entities] will burn and be destroyed. The earth and everything that people have done on it will be exposed. (11) All these things will be destroyed in this way. So think of the kind of holy and godly lives you must live (12) as you look forward to the day of God and eagerly wait for it to come. When that day comes, heaven will be on fire and will be destroyed. Everything that makes up the universe will burn and melt. (13) But we look forward to what God has promised-a new heaven and a new earth-a place where everything that has God's approval lives. (14) Therefore, dear friends, with this to look forward to, make every effort to have him find you at peace, without spiritual stains or blemishes.

(11) Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of people ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness, (12) waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn! (13) But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. (14) Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.

The heavens [earth's rulership] will disappear with a loud noise, and the heat will melt the whole universe [ruling entities] . Then the earth and everything on it will be seen for what they are. (11) Everything will be destroyed. So you should serve and honor God by the way you live. (12) You should look forward to the day when God judges everyone, and you should try to make it come soon. On that day the heavens will be destroyed by fire, and everything else will melt in the heat. (13) But God has promised us a new heaven and a new earth, where justice will rule. We are really looking forward to that! (14) My friends, while you are waiting, you should make certain that the Lord finds you pure, spotless, and living at peace.

(13) But in keeping with his promise, we are looking forward to new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home. (14) So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to have him find you without spot or fault and at peace.
